Seedlings class will be in the EADT newspaper 'first class'.
During our outside learning, Nature Explorers continued studying flora. This time they used pieces of flora to help create and replicate a woodland scene by interpreting their own idea of a tree.
This weeks film club is Help! I'm a Fish A film about a young boy called Fly and his sister Stella...... what happens next you will have to book into club to see (Arbor/Clubs)
Sycamore have been learning all about figurative art. They have looked at the impressionist artist Edgar Degas and surrealist Alberto Giacometti. The pupils have been drawing figurative impressions of animals which they will then use in their information texts in literacy.
Some Year 3 and 4 pupils had the opportunity to attend a teambuilding afternoon at Hartismere High School. During the event the pupils took part in a variety of activities where they had to work together to cross a space of land without touching the ground, direct each other through a maze, walk on multi person wooden skis and carry a bucket full of ping pong balls with ropes without dropping it! Well done to everyone who took part and worked together with their teams. #school #smallschool #teamwork #teambuilding #sports
Today we said THANKYOU to the farmers during our annual Harvest Festival. Staff and pupils were joined in Church by parents, friends and local Farmers to celebrate the gifts the land has to offer. We sang, read poems we had written in class and readings to say Thankyou to the Farmers. Our Head Pupils and Prefects presented a local farmer with a card to say Thankyou for all the work the Farmers do. Children brought food gifts for the Church larder. Unlike a food bank the Church larder is free for anyone to access when ever the Church is open.
Today Pine Class went to the church to take part in a pretend Christening in our RE lesson. The parents chose responsible friends as God Parents and a name for the baby. Rev'd Diane did the whole service for us and we thank her for this special experience.
A team of pupils from St Edmunds Primary and Mendham Primary in Year 5 & 6 recently took part in a football tournament at Hartismere High School. They displayed excellent team work and some impressive football skills and in their first match they scored 5-0 and went on to finish 5th overall from over 20 schools that took part. We are very proud of them - they were great ambassadors for our schools #school #physicaleducation #sports #football #teamwork #smallschool
Our Junior Road safety Officers are planning a Be Bright Be Seen day on 17th October to raise awareness of the importance to wear brightly coloured clothes in Autumn/Winter months so we are seen by other road users.
